Learn Portuguese for CIPLE: one structured path, 30 units.
A calm, step-by-step course in European Portuguese that takes you to the level of the CIPLE exam (A2). Every unit adds one structure and reuses everything before it — so nothing you learn is ever wasted.
Listen before you buy
Real audio from unit 1, as it is inside the course. European Portuguese voices — not Brazilian — because that is what you will hear in Portugal and in the CIPLE exam.

What is CIPLE?
CIPLE (Certificado Inicial de Português Língua Estrangeira) is the A2-level certificate of European Portuguese issued by CAPLE, University of Lisbon. It is the proof of language knowledge accepted for Portuguese nationality. The exam has reading and writing, listening and a short oral part.
Is this course enough to pass CIPLE?
The course takes you through the vocabulary, structures and task types of the A2 level, and every fifth unit is a checkpoint in the exam format. Unit 30 is a full exam rehearsal. How fast you get there depends on how much you practise — most learners also benefit from the full simulated exams in CIPLE testing, which is why we offer the bundle.
Do I need any Portuguese to start?
No. Unit 1 starts with “hello, my name is”. If you already know some Portuguese, the placement test (20 questions) tells you which unit to start from.
Which Portuguese is taught?
European Portuguese (pt-PT), the variety spoken in Portugal and used in the CIPLE exam. All audio is recorded with European Portuguese voices.
In which languages are the explanations?
English, Russian and Ukrainian. You choose the language when you buy and can change it later in the course.
How does the AI correction work?
In the Write step you type a short text; in the Speak step you record yourself. The course checks your answer against European Portuguese norms, gives a score from 0 to 5 and explains the corrections in your language. It uses only what the course has taught so far.
Is this an exam registration?
No. The course prepares you for the exam. You register for CIPLE directly with CAPLE or an authorised exam centre. We have no connection with CAPLE or the University of Lisbon.
Is it a subscription?
No. You pay €89 once (or €129 for the bundle with CIPLE testing) and keep access for life.
I already bought CIPLE testing from CivicLearn. Can I add the course?
Yes. Use the code CIPLEPLUS at checkout and pay €60 instead of €89 — the same as if you had bought the bundle.
Can I learn on my phone?
Yes. Everything works in the browser on phone, tablet and computer. Nothing to install.
Ready to start?
30 units, real European Portuguese audio, writing and speaking corrected by AI. €89, once.
